My first book, Crashing Through the Front Door, is a collection of contemporary oral histories — all discussing a cultural shift in midwest drag shows and LGBTQ safe spaces.

After many LGBTQ safe spaces closed in Indianapolis, the remaining establishments were only built for cisgender, white, gay men. The people outside of that demographic didn't have any spaces dedicated to their safety or celebration — which is why the underground dance party Low Pone was created.

Crashing is about the people who started Low Pone and changed the tide in Indy’s queer community.

The book was published with PrintText press in a limited run, and had a gallery show with Big Car Collaborative. Crashing received press from NUVO and the Indianapolis Star.

Crashing is now part of the Indiana Historical Society's LGBTQ collection. It also lives in the Indianapolis Public Library's special collection.
